Gift guide for Sinterklaas and Christmas: which silk gift suits whom?

The same question comes round every year: what do you give someone who already seems to have everything? Silk is a rewarding answer. It feels luxurious, it is used every day and hardly anyone buys it for themselves. In this gift guide we line up our pillowcases, sleep masks and scrunchies by budget and by person. In short: a silk gift for every budget

  • Up to €25: a set of silk scrunchies, four small or two large ones in a single colour. Right for a Secret Santa or as a little extra with a bigger present.

Giving a pillowcase: mind the size

With a pillowcase there is one thing you need to know beforehand: how big the pillow is. In the Netherlands the usual bed pillow measures 60x70 cm. We also have 50x70 cm for the narrower pillow and 40x80 cm for the elongated one. If you can, look at the label of a pillowcase the recipient uses now, or ask someone in the household.

What exactly does the recipient get?

Pillowcases and sleep masks are each delivered in a green Silkora gift box. Open the box and the pillowcase or mask lies in translucent paper with a Silkora sticker on it, not in a plastic sleeve. You can hand over the present as it is, or tie a ribbon round it yourself. All products are made of 22 momme mulberry silk and carry the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 label, which means they have been tested for harmful substances.

Ordering in time for Sinterklaas and Christmas

Sinterklaas evening is on 5 December and Christmas follows less than three weeks later. Parcel delivery is busy in December, so do not wait until the last few days. Within the Netherlands we ship free of charge; to other countries shipping is free from €50, and below that you pay €5.95. You will find the delivery times on the shipping and returns page.

If the gift is not right after all, you can return it up to 30 days after receiving it. That period starts on the day the parcel reaches you, not on the day you give the present. It is no problem if the recipient has opened the box; we do like to get the product itself back unused. A direct exchange is not possible: you send the item back and order the other colour or size again.
