Is it better to sleep on satin or silk?
If you are looking at a luxurious feel, temperature regulation, and a very smooth surface, real silk is often “better”, but it is also more expensive and usually needs more careful care, for example with a silk pillowcase.
Satin can be a great alternative when it is made from cotton or viscose. It still feels smooth and is usually easier to wash. Polyester satin is typically the cheapest and very shiny, but it can feel warmer, create static, and be less breathable.
So think about your priorities. For hair and skin comfort and cooler sleeping, choose silk with an appropriate momme weight. For budget and convenience, cotton satin is often the best pick. If you are very sensitive to heat, you may want to avoid polyester satin.
Whatever you choose, regular washing, a supportive pillow, and a cool, well ventilated bedroom will make the biggest difference to overall sleep comfort.
